Harvey Bernard Boysen, Jr. 75, of Rock Dell, Minnesota passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. He was born on March 16, 1942, in Austin, MN the son of Harvey Boysen, Sr. and Berdina (Ohm) Boysen. He married Diane (Golberg) Boysen on January 18, 1963, and they just celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary with a trip to Florida with great friends. Harvey fondly known as Harv or Junior was a man of all trades and talents. He could build a golf course while at the same time build a house from bottom up. He enjoyed making wine with his friends, fishing, fishing, and more fishing along with catching a few cans of beer along the way; and spending time with his buddies, friends, and family. He was always good for handing out a bag of candy. Harvey started out as a rural milkman in the Rock Dell area and then worked for the Parks and Rec Department for over 49 Years, until his retirement in 2000. His family includes his wife, Diane Boysen; his siblings; Lorraine Ness, David Boysen (Bonnie), Leonard Boysen (Betty), Gary Boysen (Deb), Roger Boysen (Darla), and Michael Boysen (Rita); his daughter, Penni Ryan (Don) and son, Kent Boysen; daughter-in-law, Julia; his grandchildren, Justin Ryan (Amy), Brandon Ryan, Andrew Boysen and Erik Boysen and his great grandson, Everett Nelson Ryan; brother-in-laws, Mark Golberg (Karen), Lon Golberg (Julie), Joe Golberg (Deb); many nieces and nephews; and very special friends. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Jessica Marie Ryan. A Celebration gathering service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 6200 County Road 3 SW in Rock Dell, MN with Reverend Paul Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 14, 2017, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. A time for food and fellowship will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to East St. Olaf Cemetery Church Fund, Paws and Claws Humane Society of Rochester and/or plant a tree in his honor.
