IDA JEAN WOLLENBURG

Ida Jean Wollenburg, 80, of Brownsdale, MN passed away at Mayo Clinic Hospital Austin Campus on May 23, 2017.

Jean was born on August 1, 1936, the daughter of Wilbert and Marion (Winn) Peterson in Hayfield, MN.

Jean graduated from Hayfield High School in 1954.

She was united in marriage to Oscar Wollenburg on October 23, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield. The couple resided on a farm near Brownsdale their entire married life. To this union they had six children of whom four survive. Jean enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and watching TV game shows and cooking shows. Recently she did many word search puzzles.

Jean is survived by her children, Daniel (Cindy) Wollenburg, Owatonna, MN; Joel, (Becky) Wollenburg, Brownsdale, MN; Sharon (Forrest) Malakowsky, Hartland, MN; Paul Wollenburg, Fort Lauderdale, FL; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Robert Peterson, Oregon; sisters, Alice Van Gorden, and Gloria Hillman both of Minneapolis, MN

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar; daughter, Lora; son, William; and grandson, Derek Malakowsky.

The visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 ~ 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the funeral home on Friday.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield with Pastor Randy Fossum officiating.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Brownsdale.
