IRENE MYRTLE DISTAD

The memorial service for Irene Myrtle Distad will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 1, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE, in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Irene Myrtle Distad, 96, of Stewartville, MN died on May 28, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Irene Myrtle Madson was born on June 15, 1913, the daughter of John and Bertina (Hensrud) Madson in Westfield Township, Dodge County, MN. She was united in marriage to Edwin Arthur Distad on September 8, 1934, in Hayfield, MN. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in rural Byron. She enjoyed music, cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, and especially her grandchildren.
Irene is survived by three sons, Eugene (Delores) Distad, Hayfield, MN; Andrew (Rita) Distad, Byron, MN; Edwin A. Jr., Distad, Byron, MN; sister, Mildred Mahnke, Blooming Prairie, MN; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Peder and Obed. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield is assisting with arrangements.
