IRENE AUGUSTA SCHRAMM
The funeral service for Irene Augusta Schramm will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 29972 570th Avenue, Waltham, MN with Reverend Jesse Krusemark officiating. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Waltham.
Irene A. Schramm, 95, passed away peacefully during her afternoon nap, on September 30, 2014, at Seminary Home in Red Wing, MN after suffering for many years.
Irene was born July 16, 1919, the daughter of Theodore and Leona (Faber) Schulz in Udolpha Township, MN. She was united in marriage to Henry Schramm on May 22, 1938, at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Waltham. Irene and her husband farmed in the Battle Creek, Iowa area from 1944-1947, and moved to Waltham, MN and farmed from 1947-1999. The couple spent 27 winters in Texas. Irene was now living at Seminary Home in Red Wing, MN. Irene enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting, traveling, and dancing. She loved visiting with family and friends. Her special love was for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and anyone who had a baby.
Irene is survived by one daughter, Lois (Gary) Hughes, Red Wing, MN; one son, Roger Schramm, Gordon, WI; one brother, Allen Schulz, Austin, MN; sister-in-law, Charlotte Schulz, Austin, MN; one brother-in-law, Dwayne Schramm, Fresno, CA; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, step-mother, brother, grandson, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A special thank you to the employees of Seminary Home and Hospice for the wonderful care given to our mother.
Family prefers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church in Waltham, Mayo Clinic Red Wing Home Care and Hospice, or charity of donor's choice. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield is in charge of arrangements.
