Jacqueline Joyce Tendick, 86, of Hayfield, MN passed away at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Jacqueline was born on August 5, 1932, the daughter of John and Julia (Bjorge) Sund in Westby, WI.
After graduating as valedictorian from Viroqua High School, Jackie attended the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, Field Crest Nursing Home in Hayfield, and retired her career at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN.
She was united in marriage to Ted Tendick on July 17, 1954 in Viroqua, WI.
Jackie was generous with her time and talents as a volunteer to the elementary school and the public library in Hayfield, as a Girl Scout leader, and as an active member and elder at First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening and hardanger, and as well as fellowship with friends and family.
Jackie is survived by her five daughters Joan (Larry) Converse, Spring Valley, MN; Nancy (Ray) Howland, Arlington, TX; Sara (Arthur) Wall, Morgan Hill, CA; Lisa (Leon) Arenas, Blaine, MN; Virginia (Kenneth) Garness, Hayfield, MN; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and husband Ted Tendick who was proud to be her husband. Also surviving is one sister Luetta Hunder, Lady Lake, FL; and one brother John Jr. (Marlene) Sund, Sparta, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church 109 East Main Street in Hayfield with Reverend Scott Larson and Reverend Clint Patterson co-officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Inurnment will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.
