James "Shorty" Allan Goodman

James (Jim) Allan Goodman, AKA: "Shorty" at the age of 65, of Hayfield, MN, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, January 17, 2025.

Born in Rochester, MN, on November 11, 1959, Jim was the son of Charles and Twila Goodman. He graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 1978, and went on to work at the Hayfield Window and Door Company. He later in 2002, became the proud owner of Goodman Greenhouse and Nursery, where he cultivated not just plants but countless friendships. He then proceeded to explore other options, returning to the Hayfield Window and Door Company, then transitioned into his retirement.

Jim was a man of many passions. He loved the open road on his motorcycle, cherished days spent hunting and fishing, and could often be found enjoying camaraderie at the Uncle Mony’s Bowling Alley. He brought energy and a warm smile to every gathering.

Jim is survived by his son, Anthony (Megan) Goodman of Pipestone, MN; his beloved grandchildren, Aiden, Wyatt, and Abbigail Goodman; his brother, John Charles Goodman of Mantorville, MN; and his sisters, Judy Ann Goodman of Byron, MN, and Jean Marie Goodman of Celebration, FL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Goodman; his parents, Charles and Twila Goodman; his brother, Joel Goodman; and his sister-in-law, Lynda Goodman.

Jim’s life will be celebrated in true “Shorty” fashion with a gathering at Uncle Mony’s Restaurant, 18 2nd ST NE in Hayfield, MN on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 1:00pm-5:00pm.
