Janet Louise Christenson

Janet Louise Christenson, 90, of Rochester, MN formerly of Hayfield, MN passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Shorewood Memory Care in Rochester, MN.

Janet was born on October 15, 1933, in Austin, MN to Floyd and Emma (Jicha) Mildenstein. She graduated from Lyle High School. She married Robert LaVern Christenson on March 12, 1955, in Austin, MN.  She was a homemaker and helped farm with her husband.  They moved to Rochester, MN in 2007.  She loved tending to her flower garden, mowing her lawn, and being outdoors.  She also enjoyed walking with her dogs, crossword puzzles, and reading.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, MN.

Janet is survived by her children, Randell (Vicki) Christenson of Rochester, MN and Linda (Brian) Meier of Sanborn, MN; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; seven brothers and one sister.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 501 2nd ST NW in Hayfield, MN with Pastor Kristen Anderson officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, MN.
