The funeral service for Jeanette Ardell Mitas will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Bohemian National Cemetery in Owatonna, MN.
Jeanette Ardell Mitas, 95, of Hayfield, MN died on February 9, 2009, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, MN.
Jeanette Ardell Johnson born on March 5, 1913, the daughter of Martin and Clara (Skouge) Johnson in Norway Township, Wright County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Fred Mitas on June 11, 1938, in Osage, MN. The couple moved to Hayfield in 1989, from Des Moines, Iowa. Jeanette was a homemaker, member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years, enjoyed arts, crafts, sewing, cooking and baking.
Jeanette is survived by one son, Robert (Dorothy) Mitas, Omaha, NE; one daughter, Pauline (Richard) Sampson, Schaumburg, IL; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on January 19, 1994, and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, MN. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield is in charge of arrangements.
