JERALD DUANE MILLER

Jerald Duane Miller, 83, of Hayfield, MN passed away on May 20, 2017, in Dodge Center, MN.

Jerald was born on November 11, 1933, in LuVerne, IA the son of Henry and Alzina (Johnson) Miller.

Jerry graduated from Luverne, IA High School in 1951. He entered the United States Air Force in January 28, 1952, and discharged on January 27, 1956.

Jerry was united in marriage to Rita Larimer on May 17, 1953. The couple moved to a farm near Sargeant, MN and Jerry started farming in 1956, and started working at IBM in 1961. The couple moved into Hayfield in 1971. Jerry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church council and was a member of the Hayfield American Legion. He loved going up north fishing and golfing. He and Rita wintered in Arizona for many years.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Rita Miller, Hayfield, MN; children, Michael (Candace) Miller, Wilmington, NC; Debbie (Bob) Jonasen, Centerville, MN; daughter-in-law, Jane Miller, Woodbury, MN; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and brother, Allen (Darlene) Miller, Mapleton, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven; and two brothers, Don and Dennis.

The visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating.

Military honors by Hayfield American Legion Rothie Post #330. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
