John Edwin Brandli

J ohn Edwin Brandli, 94, of Kasson, MN entered heaven on November 16, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary’s Campus, Rochester, MN.

John was born on January 5, 1928, the son of Charles and Lura (Witter) Brandli in Milton Township, MN.

John graduated from the 8th Grade at Pumpkin Hollow Country School. John served in the U.S. Coast Guard (Seaman 1st Class) during WW2, at 17 years old.

John worked as a Butcher and Manager of the Meat Department at Erdman’s Grocery for 30 plus years. He owned and operated the Kasson Speedwash Laundromat, Parkside Apartments South, Countryside Manor Mobile Home Park, Kings Inn, and the Y-Motel.

He was a member of the Kasson United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed golf, fishing, watching the Vikings, and traveling.

John married Loretta O’Malley in 1951. They had 6 children together: Linda, Charlene, Rosalie, Sarah, James, and Joseph. They later divorced.

John is survived by his children: Linda (Don) Marti, Kasson, MN; Charlene (Dean) Greenslade, Pine Island, MN; Rosalie (Steve) Koebele, Sunbury, OH; James (Janet) Brandli, Cornell, WI; Joseph Brandli, Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren: Michael Marti, Rachel Poncelet, Timothy Greenslade, Andrew Greenslade, Lisa Anenson, Nicholas Koebele, Elizabeth Brandli, Nathan Brandli; and fifteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are; brother Donald; sister, Dorothy; and sister, Janet. He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, and daughter, Sarah Bursau. He married Marcy Wagner in 1996, she preceded him in death. He married Betty Bluhm in 1999, she preceded him in death.

Visitation will be 4:00 -7:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7 ^th Street SE, Kasson, MN and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the United Methodist Church, 801 5 ^th Avenue NW in Kasson, MN. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with military honors by the Kasson American Legion. Blessed be his memory.
