A Funeral Mass for Judith Rae Sowieja will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014, at St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church, 20 ~ 2nd St. NE in Dodge Center with Father Gregory Parrott celebrating. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja, MN. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center and one hour before at the church on Saturday. Rosary service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
Judith Rae Sowieja, 78, passed away on November 11, 2014, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Judith was born on October 8, 1936, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Davis) Ziemer in Dodge Center, MN. She graduated from Dodge Center High School.
Judy was united in marriage to Jerome James Sowieja on July 13, 1957, in Dodge Center. Judy worked for various places in Dodge Center and last was employed by Energy Economic for 24 years. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, hiking, sports and was an avid reader. She was a true outdoors woman.
Judy is survived by her children, Lynne Sowieja, Manitou Springs, CO; James Sowieja, Dodge Center, MN; Susan (Richard) Frericks, Silver Bay, MN; three granddaughters; and one sister, Charlotte Lewis, Dodge Center, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Jerome.
Memorials are preferred to the family.
