The memorial service for Kathleen Marie Koontz will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday April 3, 2014at St. John's Lutheran Church, 28959 ~ 630th Avenue, Sargeant, MN with Reverend Ronald Prigge officiating.

Kathleen Marie Koontz, 67, of Brownsdale, MN passed away on March 31, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Kathleen was born on March 18, 1947, the daughter of Harry and Evelyn (Sorenson) Van Vliet in Decorah, Iowa.

Kathleen was united in marriage to Ronald Koontz on April 30, 1982, in Sioux Falls, SD. She worked at Field Crest Care Center for 20 years and retired December 10, 2013. Kathleen's grandchildren were very special to her. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, and was an avid Packer Fan.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Ronald Koontz, Brownsdale, MN; two sons, Jason Johnson, Brownsdale, MN; Jeff (Patty) Johnson, Mankato, MN; stepson, Phillip Koontz, Austin, MN; six grandchildren, Selena, Juan, Bailey, Amber, Mike and Daniel. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
