Larry Leonard Thompson

Larry Leonard Thompson, 79, passed away September 2, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester St. Mary’s Campus.

Larry was born on June 14, 1945, the son Leonard and Pearl (Gaile) Thompson of rural, MN.  Larry attended Luther College and served in the Marine Corps from April 1966-January 1968 as a member of the United States Marine Corps Band.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Norman and Pearl Ruth Thompson, grandparents, Norman and Hannah Thompson, Mathew and Elisabeth Gaile; his siblings, Pamela Glee Thompson Gilbert and Theadore Gaile Thompson.

Larry is survived by his son, Nick Peterson and daughter, Katie M. Peterson, Twin Cities, MN; sister, Faye Elisabeth Sparks, Partner, Ray Joachim, Prior Lake, MN; nephew, Dan (Drea) Sparks, Austin, MN; niece, Lisa Sparks Mulhern, Spirit Lake, IA; and numerous cousins, grand nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
