Laura Anderson, 96, of Dodge Center, MN passed away on October 11, 2019, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center. Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street in Dodge Center. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Laurel Hills Cemetery in Des Monies, IA.
Ms. Laura Anderson, daughter of Lewis Henry Anderson and Ida Christina (Paulsen) Anderson was born on March 15, 1923, in Des Moines Iowa. She was a graduate of Union College with a degree in Elementary Education. She also earned a degree in accounting from Capital City Community College in 1945. Laura worked as an accountant for over 40 years at Triple F Feeds of Des Moines.
Laura’s life was devoted to her Lord, her Church and to others. She served faithfully in the Des Moines Seventh-day Adventist church as treasurer and as a Sabbath School teacher in the children’s department. She continued her ministry in the children’s department of the Dodge Center SDA church when she moved with her sister Annie to Minnesota be closer to family in 2003.
Laura’s free time was spent tending to her large beautiful garden. She loved sewing and handicrafts. An avid reader throughout her life, Laura always had a book and a puzzle she was working on.
Laura brought only love and kindness to this world. Her family and friends will always remember her joyous, helpful and loving nature. Visits with Aunt Laura will remain treasured memories for all those who were blessed to have them.
Predeceased by her parents and sisters Annie Anderson and Ingrid (Anderson) Thornton and great niece Laura McNeilus. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her nieces: Marilee (Garwin) McNeilus of Dodge Center, MN and Christine (Louis) Losordo of San Clemente, CA; three great nephews Denzil, Brandon, and Michael and great niece Anna and a host of devoted extended family members.
Laura passed to her final rest on October 11, 2019 and now waits for her Savior’s second coming when He will say to her, “Well done my good and faithful servant!” Matt 25:21
