LINDA KAY ENGLER

The funeral service for Linda Kay Engler will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
Linda Kay Engler, 63, died on April 7, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Linda was born on November 9, 1947, the daughter of Arnold and Beverly (Beecham) Erikson in Madison, SD. She graduated in 1966, from Howard High School. She attended Dakota State in Madison, SD, and Graceland College in Southern IA. She was united in marriage to Duane Engler on October 21, 1989, in Hayfield. Linda worked as a nurse for over 25 years. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital, Field Crest Care Center and most recently at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center. Linda took great pride in her role as a nurse and will be greatly missed by her co-workers and the residents. Linda was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Oak's Golf Course. She was an avid golfer, was in golf leagues, enjoyed bowling when the children were young, and enjoyed fishing in the early years. A must for Linda was making chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. She was a caregiver by nature, and she enjoyed watching every episode of Law and Order.
Linda is survived by her husband, Duane Engler, Hayfield, MN; one son, A.J. (Shelly) Anderson, Hayfield, MN; two daughters, Bev (Mick) O'Connor, Austin, MN; Samantha (Jamie) Shaw, Hayward, WI; five grandchildren, Sidney Anderson, Michael & Mason O'Connor, Jakob & Seth Shaw; mother, Beverly Erikson, Howard, SD; siblings, Larry (Diana) Erikson, Scranton, IA; Lois (Dale) Brinkman, Watertown, SD; Lavern (Judy) Erikson, West Fargo, ND; LaDonna (Jim) Schneider, Gettysburg, SD; and Leslie (Brenda) Erikson, Brandon, SD. She was preceded in death by her father; and first husband, Allard Anderson.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield, MN and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Hayfield Fire Department or the Cancer Society.
