Linda Sue Jurrens

Linda Sue Jurrens, 64, passed away peacefully on February 06, 2022, at River Bend Senior Living - Rochester, MN, from dementia.

Linda was born June 14, 1957, in the Clarion, IA., and lived in Kasson, for the past 13 years.

Linda is survived by her husband, Steven; children, Rachel ( Vince ) Gish, Austin ( Kalie ) Niederhauser, sister, Rhonda Dickerson; brother, David (Carol) Lesher; and fourteen grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Lesher; mother, Lois Lesher; and sister, Melanie Sweeney.

Linda grew up on the Lesher family farm in Clarion, Iowa. After graduation from Clarion High School, she attended University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA. - majoring in Education. Post-graduation, Linda was a teacher for a few years, then transitioned into a successful 22 year career at GMAC Mortgage - Waterloo, IA., serving in the position of Team Lead of Training.  She retired from GMAC in 2008 to pursue management opportunities with Von Maur in Cedar Falls, IA as well as Forsyth / Decatur, IL.

On November 07, 2007 Linda and Steven met in Cedar Falls, IA, and on October 18, 2009, were united in marriage at the Rochester Art Center in Rochester, MN.

Approximately one month prior to their wedding, Linda suffered a minor stroke as the result of a freak accident.  The initial outcome from the stroke was only minor short-term memory challenges, however over the course of time and specifically in the past few years challenges rapidly transitioned into advanced dementia.

Linda was a member of South Zumbro Lutheran Church of rural Kasson, MN.

Linda was a smiler and would light up the room when she walked into it.  She had a listening ear and was willing to engage in conversation.  She enjoyed nature, watching birds (specifically Cardinals in the winter and Hummingbirds in the summer), traveling, day-trips, seeing the mountains of Colorado, visiting the North Shore of MN, fishing and riding bicycle on local trails. Steve and Linda enjoyed traveling to Colorado engaging in construction / remodeling / fellowship / worship-n-praise at Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp on Memorial Day Work Weekends.  They also had the opportunity to travel to Ireland a few years ago where she was able to trace her ancestral bloodline, stay with family relatives, and enjoy another example of God’s creation - the natural wonders found along the East coast of Ireland and in the area of Coleraine - Northern Ireland. Linda also loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, at South Zumbro Lutheran Church - 4830 120th Ave SW, Kasson, MN.  ( www.szlc.org )

Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 ( visitation one hour prior ).  Interment be in the South Zumbro Lutheran Church Cemetery immediately following the Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions received by the family will be given in memory of Linda to: Dementia Society of America, Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp & Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp.
