Linda Mae Skjeie

Linda Mae Skjeie, 73, of Kasson, MN passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

Linda was born on April 28, 1947 in Austin, MN to Tilman and Clara (Teigen) Braaten.  She graduated from Austin High School.  On August 24, 1968 she married Richard “Dick” Skjeie in Austin, MN.  Together they had two children.

Linda worked at Mayo Clinic as a surgical technician and retired in 2009 after 43 years of service.  She loved arts and crafts and was always doodling on scrap paper.  She enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening flowers, and loved to collect frogs.  She always looked forward to traveling especially wintering in Florida with her husband.   She will be deeply missed.

Linda is survived by her husband, Dick Skjeie of Kasson, MN; children, Mike (Sally) Skjeie of Kasson, MN, Chris Skjeie of Kellogg, MN; two grandchildren, Courtney and Hunter; great-granddaughter, Remington; siblings, Marlys (LeRoy) Junge of Byron, MN, Mike Braaten of Austin, MN, Larry (Jean) Braaten of Austin, MN, Carole Dunfee of Austin, MN, and Ron (Mel) Braaten of Chehalis, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Beverly Pitcher, and brother, Tom Braaten.

Linda was a grandma to all kids.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7 ^th Street SE Kasson, MN 55944. Inurnment will be this spring in Preston Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.
