The funeral service for Lowell Richard Robinson will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, at Concord Church of Christ, 55087 200th Avenue, West Concord, MN with Reverend Peter Moen and Reverend Tim Smith co-officiating. Inurnment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord, MN. Visitation will be on 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.
Lowell Richard Robinson, 74, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 5, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family, in rural Dodge Center.
Lowell was born December 9, 1940, to Archie and Ethel (Moreland) Robinson in Dodge Center, Minnesota. He attended country school #51 and graduated from West Concord High School in 1958. Lowell was a baptized member of the Concord Church of Christ. He was united in marriage to Sherrolynne Mae Northway on May 22, 1960, at the Congregational Church in Mantorville, Minnesota. Together they raised 8 children and celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Lowell will be remembered for his strong work ethic and dedication to his employers through the years whether it was pumping gas, installing milking pipeline for farmers, ensuring no one went without heat at a moment’s notice, and his attention to detail and fierce devotion to accuracy when cutting steel at McNeilus Steel.
Lowell is survived by his wife, Sherrie and 8 children, Deb Robinson (Larry), Jim (Sue) Robinson, Tim (Barb) Robinson, Randy (Jess) Robinson, Susan (Mike) Brual, Sandy (Steve) Foote, Shelly (Jason) Gochnauer, Shane (Jaci) Robinson., one sister, Shirley Moe of Dodge Center, sister-in-law, Marie (Al) Head, brothers-in-law, Bob (Norleen) Northway, Raymond (Susan) Northway, 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Ethel Robinson, father and mother-in-law, Robert and Jessie Northway, brother-in-law, George Moe, sister-in-law, Bonnie Northway, and aunts and uncles.
Lowell will be remembered as a hero to his children and grandchildren, an avid Minnesota Viking fan, sharing Ole & Lena jokes, the Minnesota State Fair, reading newspapers, watching football games, western movies, Duck Dynasty, Molly B Polka shows, and a huge fan of all the Alaskan shows on television. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his family. His passion for mowing lawn on his John Deere lawn mower in straight, perfect lines was noted by one and all. He ensured all of his children and grandchildren inherited his dry sense of humor and quick wit.
