LUVERNE JOSEPH GILBERTSON

The funeral service for Luverne Joseph Gilbertson will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion Rothie Post #330.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 501 2 ^nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Attendance at the service and the visitation, masks will be required in guidance to Covid-19 regulations.

Luverne Gilbertson, 83, passed away on Friday morning June 12, 2020, in Hayfield, MN. Luverne was born on August 2, 1936, in Hayfield, the son of Eddie and Clara (Solverud) Gilbertson. He served in the United States Army.

Luverne was united in marriage to Marie Margaret Christensen on September 6, 1958. Luverne worked at various jobs such as, Crenlo, Hormel, Dodge County Highway Department, Century Plastics, with Jay Woodwick building grain bins and Dwight Ward, AKA Corn Palace, where he was the king. He enjoyed traveling, Casinos, camping and going to his grandchildren’s sports.

Luverne is survived by his children, Denise Shadow, Hayfield, MN; David (Sue) Gilbertson, Hayfield, MN; Debra (David) Leino, Hayfield, MN; 8 grandchildren, Ginny Shadow, Renae Shadow, Katie (Aaron) Rud, Heather (Kevin) Farmer, Karla (Ryan) Smith, Dennis (Lauren) Gilbertson, Caleb Gilbertson, Sara Gilbertson; 12 great grandchildren, Isaac Shadow, Natalie Shadow, Noah Shadow, Blake Shadow, Michael Shadow, Hunter Shadow, Jaxen Rud, Taylor Rud, Wyatt Farmer, Levi Farmer, Kyla Smith, Stanley Smith, Oscar (The Dog); sisters, Inee (Olin) Ocheltree, Rochester, MN; and Marlene Johnston, Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie, 2010; son, Dennis; two sisters, Ardella and Francis; and one brother, Nordeen.
