LYLE ALDON TJOSAAS

The funeral service for Lyle Aldon Tjosaas will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 301 8th Avenue NW, Kasson, MN with Reverend Marie Anderson and Reverend Todd Buegler co-officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

Lyle Aldon Tjosaas, 80, passed away on August 28, 2013, at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester, MN.

Lyle was born on January 12, 1933, the son of Hans and Tillie (Hanson) Tjosaas in Swift County, MN. He was united in marriage to Carol Berre on January 9, 1955, in Hazel Run, MN. Lyle was a dairy farmer until his retirement in 2001. He was involved as a Dodge County Commissioner; served on SEMCAC Board; 21st Century Genetics; MN Dairy Promotion Council; National Dairy Board; United Dairy Industry Association Board; Minnesota Association of Co-operatives and the Mantorville Township Board. He also served on St. John's Lutheran Church Council; K-M Lions; Dodge County American Dairy Association; Dodge County Dairy Herd Improvement Association; Associated Milk Producers Inc; and Sons of Norway Nortonna Lodge. After retiring from farming he was a licensed real estate agent. Lyle loved to walk and spend time with family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was proud of his Norwegian heritage and lived out his faith in everything he did.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Carol Tjosaas, Kasson, MN; children, Lynnae (Larry) Fitzgerald, South Haven, MN; Brad Tjosaas, Kasson, MN; Julie (Steve) Mumm, Roseville, MN; Wayne (Nanci) Tjosaas, Kasson, MN; Lori (Todd) Buegler, Maple Grove, MN; Paul (Missy) Tjosaas, Kasson, MN; Tim (Christina) Tjosaas, Kasson, MN; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters, Victoria Healy, Coon Rapids, MN; Eunice Fredrich, Minneapolis, MN; Jeanne (Don) Berends, Granite Falls, MN; five brothers, Richard (Loretta) Tjosaas, Granite Falls, MN; David (Suzanne) Tjosaas, Appleton, MN; Howard (Boni) Tjosaas, Bradenton, FL; Roger (Kathy) Tjosaas, Marshall, MN; and Gary (Sara) Tjosaas, Moorhead, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother, Violet; two sisters, Gladys Bloom and Karen Minor; two brothers, Homer and Wesley Tjosaas.

In lieu of flowers due to family allergies, the family prefers memorials to Seasons Hospice; St. John's Lutheran Church; Fairview Care Center or donors choice.

Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center is in charge of arrangements.
