MARGARET H. CHAPIN

The funeral service for Margaret H. Chapin will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the United Methodist Church, 20 1st Street NE, Dodge Center, MN with Reverend Dave Westlake officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inter ment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center, MN.

Margaret H. Chapin, 97, died on February 5, 2012, at Langton Place in Roseville, MN.

Margaret Irma Hubmer was born on March 1, 1914, the daughter of Otto and Irma (Ott) Hubmer in Blue Earth County, MN. On July 29, 1937, she was united in marriage to Glenn Chapin. A long time resident of Dodge County, she assisted her husband, Glenn with the family farm and raising their children. After retiring from the Dodge Center Dental Office, where she worked for 13 years, she opened and ran the Eden Bed and Breakfast. In 1991, she sold the family homestead where she enjoyed her flower gardens, and entertaining. She was a long time 4-H leader and Sunday School Teacher. After spending a few years in Rochester, MN she moved to Roseville, MN, where she has lived for the last 15 years.

Margaret is survived by her children, Lowell (Jane McKay) Chapin, Mendota Heights, MN; Jane (Rob) Garcia, Akron, OH; Lyle (Betty) Chapin, Blaine, MN; four grandchildren, Carmen (Peter Weishampel) Chapin, Holly Chapin, Jonathan (Jennifer) Chapin, Shawn Chapin; and brother, Richard Hubmer, Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; daughter, Mary; three brothers, Lauris, Harold, David; and one sister, Marcella.

Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 110 West Main Street is in charge of arrangements.

The family prefers memorials to the United Methodist Church in Dodge Center, MN.
