MARIE MARGARET GILBERTSON

The funeral service for Marie Margaret Gilbertson will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
Marie Margaret Gilbertson, 70, died Friday evening, July 23, 2010, in an auto accident.
Marie Margaret Christensen was born on December 2, 1939, the daughter of John (Perk) and Iola (Staecker) Christensen in Bradgate, Iowa. Marie went to school in Bradgate, IA. She moved to Hayfield her senior year and graduated from Hayfield High School. She was united in marriage to Luverne Gilbertson on September 6, 1958. Marie worked at several places such as Citizen State Bank, the canning factory, VonRuden's, Skelly Gas, Burger King, and Harold's Club, in Dodge Center, for the last 30 years. She enjoyed motor home traveling, baseball, (loved the Twins), gardening, cooking, baking and watching her grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her husband, Luverne Gilbertson, Hayfield, MN; children, Denise Shadow, Hayfield, MN; David (Sue) Gilbertson, Hayfield, MN; Debra Meldahl, Hayfield, MN; 8 grandchildren, Ginny Shadow, Renae Shadow, Heather (Kevin) Farmer, Katie (Aaron) Rud, Karla (Ryan) Smith, Dennis Gilbertson, Caleb Gilbertson, Sara Gilbertson; 8 great grandchildren, Blake Shadow, Isaac Shadow, Michael Shadow, Hunter Shadow, Natalie Shadow, Kyla Smith, Stanley Smith, Taylor Rud; and one brother Perry (Linda) Christensen, Apopka, FL. She was preceded in death by one son (Dennis), her parents, and one brother.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 502 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before at the church on Thursday.
