MARIE ELIZABETH SEVERSON

Marie Elizabeth Severson, 88, passed away on May 6, 2018, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.

Marie was born on December 29, 1929, the daughter of Oscar and Margaret (Tobar) Amundson in Austin, MN. She graduated from St. Augustine High School in Austin, MN. Marie was united in marriage to Victor Severson on April 7, 1951, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin, MN. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. Although she held various jobs over the years, her most important job was being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, singing and embroidering.

Marie is survived by her children, Cheryl (Bob) Lane, Chatfield, MN; Sheila (Roy) Erickson, Chatfield, MN; Candace (Michael) Miller, Wilmington, NC; Jean (Joel) Dahlen, Hayfield, MN; Jane (Dale) Schlichting, Hayfield, MN; Eric (Cathy) Severson, Kasson, MN; Rodney (Cindy) Severson, Kasson, MN; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother, Jerry Amundson, Hayfield, MN; Sister, Theresa Swank, Austin, MN; sisters-in-law, Lois Burns and Karen Severson, both of Hayfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor in 2006; and daughter, Christine in 2011.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.  Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday evening.

The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 2nd Street NE in Hayfield with Father Thomas Niehaus celebrating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. The family prefers memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
