Marilyn Rose Lermon

Marilyn Rose Lermon, 81, of Mantorville, MN passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at her home.

Marilyn was born on February 24, 1944, in Stacyville, IA, to Leo and Stella (Heimerman) Smith. She graduated from Stacyville Visitation high school and then went on to LPN school at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. She married Robert Lermon on November 27, 1965, in Stacyville, IA and together they had three children.

Marilyn worked at Mayo Clinic as an LPN for over 30 years, mostly in Community Pediatrics. After retirement at Mayo Clinic, she then worked as the school nurse at Kasson-Mantorville Elementary school until her retirement. She was a member of the Dodge County Fair Board for 29 years and was also a member of the Mantorville Senior Citizen Center. She is a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Kasson.

Marilyn enjoyed quilting, crafting, and baking. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She looked forward to wintering in Yuma, AZ for many years. She will be deeply missed.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Marina (Lawren) Castner, Jennifer (Craig) Carlson, and Michelle (Matt) McCloud; grandchildren, Christopher (Jamie), Connor, Megan, Kevin (Jazmin), Cory (Aaliyah), Joanna, and Caty; three great-grandchildren; brother, Dan (Sharon) Smith; sisters-in-law’s, Paula (Tim) Talbert and Dodie Ellingson; brother-in-law’s, Bill (Deb) Blom and Brad Blom; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lermon; parents; sisters, Barb (Norbert) Thome and Marian (Art) Anderson; brother-in-law, David Ellingson; and nephew, Jamie Busby.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1904 Mantorville Ave N in Kasson, MN, with Reverend Monsignor Gerald Mahon officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE in Kasson, MN and one hour prior to her service on Saturday. Inurnment will be in St. Margaret's Catholic cemetery in Mantorville, MN.
