Marion Theodora Bungum

Marion Theodora Bungum, 98 years plus, passed away Sunday, October 15th, 2023, in the presence of family at the family farm in Dodge County.

Marion Theodora Nereson was born March 16th, 1925, in Rock Dell Township to Ellis and Margret (Haugen) Nereson. She grew up on the family farm near East St Olaf Church, Rock Dell. She graduated from Rochester High School. In 1943, she was united in marriage to Francis Bungum for 75 years plus. They farmed and raised their family on the century farm.

Marion loved her family and the farm, often working in the field right beside Francis.

She was grateful for all she had and touched the lives of others in ways she never could have imagined.

She loved her family as no other could with her heart of gold. She enjoyed telling stories, real and make believe to the grandchildren and great grandchildren. All who knew Marion loved her quick wit and sense of humor. She always had a kind word to say of others.

She appreciated all that was ever done for her.

Marion had a strong faith that she instilled in her family.

Marion is survived by five children, Galen (Marcia) Bungum, Hayfield, MN, Michelle Bungum, Rochester, MN, Marcia Jane (Jerry) Hutchison, Kasson, MN, Barry (Rita) Bungum, Winter, Wisconsin, Brian (Brigid) Bungum, Denver, CO; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis in 2018; an infant grandson; her parents; seven sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM-7:00 PM Friday, October 20th, 2023, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd St NW in Hayfield, MN. Funeral Services will take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at Evanger Lutheran Church, 33554 660th Avenue, Sargeant, MN with Pastor Kristen Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Church Cemetery in Sargeant, MN.
