Marleen Jane Wachholz

Marleen Jane Wachholz, 88, of Kasson, MN passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Marleen was born on June 4, 1935, to George and Minnie (Jacobs) Drexel at home in Dakota, Valley, MN.  She attended county school for seven years, then went on to graduate from Winona Senior High School in 1953.

Marleen was united in marriage to Charles Wachholz on May 9, 1959, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Nodine, MN.  They lived in Rushford, Rochester, and Kasson, MN.  She was a homemaker and was also employed by Peoples Naturals.  She was active as an election judge, 4-H for 20 years, caregiver, homemaker, and birthday club.   She was a devoted member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church in Byron, MN.   After retirement, Charles and Marleen enjoyed traveling all over the world.

Marleen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Wachholz; children, Pamela (David) Waage of St. Cloud, MN, Lori (David) Engstler of Rochester, MN, and Robert Wachholz of Houston, MN; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Waage, Nathaniel Waage and Ryan Engstler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Minnie Drexel; 5 brothers and sisters, Robert, Beverly, Irvin, infant brother, and Elva; brother-in-law, Don Oldenberg.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 923 2nd Ave NW in Byron, MN with Rev. Dr. Scott Fiege officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson, MN.
