MARLYSS JEANNE THOMPSON

Marlyss Jeanne Thompson, 89, of Hayfield, MN passed away on June 5, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Mary's Campus.

Marlyss Jeanne was born on July 10, 1928, the daughter of Claude Ray and Sarah Etta (Babcock) Uptagrafft in rural West Concord, MN.

She attended school for 10 years in Dodge Center and graduated from West Concord. Marlyss was united in marriage to Wilford Samuel Thompson on June 18, 1947 in West Concord.

Marlyss worked at Water Conley and Telex Communication Assembly for 30 years. Marlyss was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Circle groups and the Hayfield American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, crocheting, and baking.

Marlyss is survived by her children, Douglas (Janet) Thompson, Lake City, MN; Linda (Dale) Ulve, Kasson, MN; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Marion Cordiner; and niece, Ann Atnip, Paris, TX, raised as a sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam; baby girl; one grandson, Tyler Mundy; and two sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
