MARTHA ELIZABETH SHELSTAD

The funeral service for Martha Elizabeth Shelstad will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church, 308 2nd Street NW Dodge Center, MN 55927, with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center.
Martha Elizabeth Shelstad, 91, died on Tuesday morning, September 21, 2010, at St. Therese Care Center in New Hope, MN.
Martha Elizabeth Kristoffersen was born on March 19, 1919, the daughter of Mads and Caroline (Solomonson) Kristoffersen in Owatonna, MN. She attended school in Dodge Center. Martha was united in marriage to Melvin Shelstad on May 9, 1943, in Dodge Center. Martha was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center. She worked as a secretary, and enjoyed RV camping, traveling, card playing, quilt making, and ceramics.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Melanie (Richard) Clifford, Maple Grove, MN; son, Mick (Debbie) Shelstad, Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, David (Kellie) Clifford, Andover, MN; Keely (Rich) Johnson, Brooklyn Park, MN; Matthew Shelstad, Rochester, MN; Megan Shelstad, Coon Rapids, MN; and ten great grandchildren and her brother, John (Wanda) Kristoffersen, Owatonna, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin in 1998; two sisters, Margaret Rasmussen, Elma Kristoffersen; two brothers, Carl Kristoffersen and Harold Kristoffersen and her grandson, Ron Clifford.
