MARVIN WILLIAM NORD
Marvin Nord 69, passed away on Saturday Oct. 29, 2016 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
He was born March 5, 1947, Kasson, MN the son of Harold Nord and Mavis (Hegna) Seim. He graduated out of John Marshall High School in 1966, and joined the US Army in 1968-1970. Marvin was united in marriage to Sandra Rae Gustafson on December 12, 1970 in Osage , Iowa and was married for 45 blessed years where they resided in Kasson, MN until 2005.
He worked for the Greenway Elevator in Kasson until 1970, then in 1972 worked for Molde and Lawrence Trucking firm until 2005. He purchased a bar and grill in Hayfield, MN in 2005 which he named “Marv’s Bar and Grill”. He moved to Hayfield, MN in 2007, where he resided until his passing.
Upon retirement he loved to travel to South Padre Islands for the winters, driving his corvette doing special fun trips with friends, motorcycle riding in the spring and summer months and going up for a family vacation to northern MN with his family and grandchildren. He loved to travel around Hayfield in the summer in his souped-up golf cart, but the most important time for him was spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. He was also a member of the American Legion in Kasson and the VFW in Mantorville.
Marvin is survived by his wife Sandra, Hayfield, children Christopher Nord, Hayfield, MN, James (Susan) Nord, Arden Hills, MN and Robin (Bobby) Gullickson, Kasson, MN, 9 grandchildren , Alyssa, Devon, Brittnee, Brooke, Kaylee, Oskar, Louis, Addie and Maryx. Brothers, Bruce Nord (Nancy), Scott Seim (Koreen); Sisters, Diana Ramer (John), Sally Johnston (Jerry) Vickie Ranvek (Mike) Rita Patterson (Bill). He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Harold Nord, Mavis Seim, step father, Lyle Seim, father-in-law, Roger Gustafson and 2 nephews, Darrin Nord and Lyle Seim.
There will be a visitation on Friday November 4 at Czaplewski Funeral Home in Dodge Center at 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Celebration of life at Harold’s Club in Dodge Center. Family request no flowers.
