MARY EVELYN HUTCHINSON
A funeral Mass for Mary Evelyn Hutchinson will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 2nd Street NE in Hayfield, with Father Steven Peterson celebrating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Mary Evelyn Hutchinson, 95, passed away on February 9, 2015, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Mary was born on February 21, 1919, in Pocahontas, IA, the daughter of Patrick and Margaret (Lampe) Hynes. She was united in marriage to Gerald "Jiggs" Hutchinson on September 2, 1940, at St. John's Church in Bancroft, IA. Mary and Jiggs moved to Minnesota in 1951. She was a farm wife for many years and later worked at Hayfield Elementary School Library for 25 years, retiring in 1990. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and did lots of volunteer work for her church. She loved sewing, gardening, search word puzzles, cards, onion rings and enjoyed bus trips. Family and friends were very special to Mary.
Mary is survived by her children, Joyce (Gary) Threinen, Mantorville, MN: Albert Hutchinson, Blaine, MN; Jerry (Marcia) Hutchinson, Byron, MN; Linda Hutchinson, Richfield, MN; David (Carol) Hutchinson, Spring Grove, MN; Steven Hutchinson, Rochester, MN; Rick (Annette) Hutchinson, Rochester, MN; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 1 great ~ great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Joan Hynes, Plainview, MN and Viola Marlow in Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald Joseph; 2 grandchildren; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. The family prefers memorials to Field Crest Care Center or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
