Mary Lou Marquette, 88, lifelong resident of Dodge Center, MN passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Mayo Clinic St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN.
Mary Lou was born on November 5, 1936, in Berne, MN to Arthur and Regena (Knutson) Emholtz. She graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1954. She then went onto work for Federated Insurance for 20 years then as a waitress for 23 years in Dodge Center, MN. She was a devoted member of Praise Fellowship Church in Dodge Center.
Mary Lou married Thomas Marquette on December 3, 1979, they enjoyed 13 years of marriage before he passed away in 1992. She was a loving and caring grandmother, aunt, and sister, always putting others before herself. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mary Lou is survived by her brother, Richard Burkhart; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Mike) Apitz, Curtis (Angel) Schoppers, Nathan (Tina) Burkhart, Nicole (Joe) Kneifl, Bridget Burkhart, and Heidi Burkhart; and many family and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Thomas Marquette; siblings, Douglas Burkhart, Collin Burkhart, Larry Marquette, Ann Schoppers, Frank Burkhart; nieces, Regina Burkhart and Robin; nephews, Elijah Burkart and Kevin Burkhart.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Praise Fellowship Church, 602 Central Ave S in Dodge Center, MN, with Pastor Roger Langworthy officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service at the church. Inurnment will be in Riverside cemetery in Dodge Center, MN.
