Merece K.E. Langworthy

Merece K.E. Langworthy, 91, of Rochester, MN, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Samaritan Bethany in Rochester, MN.

Merece was born on October 20, 1929 in Kasson, MN to Joel and Grace (Lane) Engelstad.  After graduation from Saint Olaf College, she married Erwin L. Langworthy; she and Erwin raised their family in Dodge Center Minnesota. Merece’s lifelong love and labor was to her family and every person she came in contact with. She most enjoyed her family, friends, and hospitality to all. She also enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Fountain Hills, AZ, well as cooking and sewing. She worked as a Home Economics teacher at West Concord high school and hosted the Dodge County radio news on Station KDHL.  Merece was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center, MN and the American Legion for 60 years. She will be deeply missed.

Merece is survived by her six children, Jim (Bonnie) Langworthy of Pine City, MN, Scott (Val) Langworthy of Dodge Center, MN, Lesa (Lee) Parker of Woodstock, GA, David (Holly) Langworthy of Bayport, MN, Paul (Jodi) Langworthy of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Dan (Lisamarie) Langworthy of Pine Island, MN; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers and a sister.

A private family service was held and officiated by Pastor Kira Anderson.   Inurnment was in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center, MN.  Memorials are suggested to Samaritan Bethany and Seasons Hospice in Rochester, MN.
