MINEVA EDITH “MICKEY” FRITZE
The funeral service for Mineva Edith “Mickey” Fritze will be 11:00 a.m. January 14, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in the Spring.
Mineva Edith “Mickey” Fritze, 86, died Sunday, January 11, 2009, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Mineva Edith “Mickey” Madland was born on May 2, 1922, in Winchester, Wisconsin. She grew up in Cottonwood, MN and graduated from Cottonwood High School. She had a teaching degree in music from Concordia College in Moorhead MN. She was united in marriage to Dean Fritze on August 20, 1949, in Cottonwood, MN. They moved to Hayfield in 1949, where her husband was a teacher, principal and later superintendent of the Hayfield Schools. Mickey substitute taught and raised her family. Dean retired in 1984. The couple moved to Apple Valley in 1987, and the past 8 years have resided in Farmington, MN. Mickey enjoyed attending sporting events, playing cards, music, and volunteering, helping others and spending time with her family. She helped with the elderly flu shots in Apple Valley, worked at Dakota County Community Action Council and was a member of Farmington Lutheran Church.
Mickey is survived by her husband, Dr. Dean Fritze, Farmington, MN; daughter, Judy (Kurt) Kiekbusch, Winona, MN; Michael (Kris) Fritze, Apple Valley, MN; Joel (LaMae) Fritze, Hayfield, MN; David (Deb) Fritze, Apple Valley, MN; 1 sister, Mabel (George) Nelson, Brainerd, MN; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and 1 son, Gary.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The family prefers memorials to the American Diabetes Association. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield is in charge of arrangements.
