NORMA JEAN ARENDS

Norma Jean Arends, 88, of Hayfield, Minnesota passed away on Thursday evening, July 13, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Mary's Campus in Rochester, MN.

Norma was born on January 28, 1929, the daughter of Otto and Gladys (Hanson) Tischer in Austin, MN.

Norma graduated from Austin High School. She worked at Libby's Canning Factory in Rochester, Kmart in Rochester and also Austin.

Norma was united in marriage to Orville Arends in December 10, 1949. The couple farmed in rural Hayfield and Norma helped on the farm. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, needle point and Diamond Joe's.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Linda Arends, Hayfield, MN; sister, Marilyn (Duane) Halverson, Austin, MN and brother, David Tischer, Austin, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; one brother, Dale Tischer and one sister, Lois Paulson.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104~ 1st Street SE in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, MN.
