RICHARD GEORGE OSBORN, JR.
The funeral service for Richard George Osborn, Jr. will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009, at the First Congregational Church UCC in Dodge Center with Rev. Jean Boese officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center, MN.
Richard George Osborn, Jr., 75, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Country Oaks Assisted Living in Dodge Center.
Richard George Osborn was born on October 26, 1933, in Dodge Center, the son of Richard George, Sr. and Winifred (Peterson) Osborn.
Richard graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1952. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956. On July 12, 1954, he was united in marriage to Norma Wilkins at the First Congregational Church UCC in Dodge Center. He worked in the pipeline industry and was employed by various contractors, including Underground Construction, Donaldson Construction from 1960-1987, as a laborer/operator and later became foreman and superintendent. He was superintendent for Murphy Brothers from 1988-2002, and retired in 2004. He was a member of the Dodge Center American Legion for 50 years and a member of the First Congreational Church UCC. He enjoyed watching sports, being around family and friends, German Shepard Dogs, and pipeline work.
Richard is survived by Richard (Emelyn) Osborn III, Faribault, MN; Sara Osborn, Dodge Center, MN; Teri (Bruce) Nymann, Faribault, MN; Jay (Korina) Osborn, Faribault, MN; Shelley (Todd) Kispert, Dodge Center, MN; Bob (Londa) Osborn, Fond du Lac, WI; Tom (Susan) Osborn, Dodge Center, MN; 20 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Phillip (Carolyn) Osborn, Chaska, MN; sister, Paula (Larry) Funk, Harbor Springs, MI; and brother-in-law, Robert (Margaret) Wilkins, Eagan, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Sr. and Winifred; wife, Norma; and infant brother, Terry.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center and one hour before at the church on Monday.
