Richard Allen Skjeie

Richard Allen Skjeie, 81, of Kasson, MN passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Richard was born on December 7, 1943, in Forest City, IA to Allen and Evelyn (Scott) Skjeie.  Shortly after graduating high school, he served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1968, receiving a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Fleet Marine Force Combat Insignia and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. On August 24, 1968, he married Linda Mae Braaten in Austin, MN. Together they had two children.

Richard worked at Reynold’s Wholesale until it closed and then for EEI as a Maintenance Supervisor, until his retirement.  He enjoyed wintering in Florida with his wife for many years. He will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his children, Mike (Sally) Skjeie of Kasson, MN, Chris (Rich Law) Skjeie of Weaver, MN; two grandchildren, Courtney and Hunter; great-granddaughter, Remington; siblings, Karon, Ceil, and Duane.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Skjeie; and sister, Wanda.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th Street SE Kasson, MN 55944. Inurnment will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN at a later date.
