The funeral service for Richard Ernest Walker will be 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, June 28, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield, MN.

Following the service there will be military honors provided by the Hayfield American Legion Rothie Post #330.

Richard Walker, 48, passed away on June 25, 2013, at his home in Hayfield.

Richard was born on December 3, 1964, in Huntington Beach, CA and was raised in Bell, CA. Richard joined the Navy in 1984. He was united in marriage to Elaine Wilkowski on August 26, 1989. Richard lived in Riverside, CA until September 1997, when he was employed by McNeilus and later became manager of Research and Development. He moved his family to Hayfield, MN and became Commander of the Legion in 2011-2012. Richard enjoyed sailing, riding motorcycle, music, family and friends. He loved life.

Richard is survived by his wife, Elaine Walker, Hayfield, MN; daughters Kasee and Grace; son William; his father William Staats, Loredo, Mexico; brothers, George Turano, New Jersey; Leonard Doutson, San Bernardino, CA. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ken Wilkowski.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
