RITA JEAN MILLER

Rita Jean Miller, 86, of Hayfield, MN passed away on September 2, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN.

Rita was born on November 23, 1933, the daughter of Dick Larimer and Edna Bowman (Hinz) Larimer in Luverne, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Jerald “Jerry” Miller on May 17, 1953. Rita and her husband farmed near Sargeant, MN. The couple moved to Hayfield in 1971. Rita and her husband wintered in Arizona for many years. Rita was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Rita was a people person with a feisty personality. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She deeply missed her husband, Jerry. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan.

Rita is survived by her children, Michael (Candace) Miller, Wilmington NC; Debbie (Bob) Jonasen, Poplar, WI; daughter-in-law, Jane Miller, Woodbury, MN; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Dale (Carol) Larimer, Dennis (Cheri) Larimer and sister, Myrna (Don) Cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; brother, Norman and son, Steven.

There will be a private family funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.   In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Crest View Villa or Trinity Lutheran Church.
