The funeral service for Robert Edsel Miller will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Crane Community Chapel, 1111 9th Street NE, Austin, MN with the Rev. Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will be in Grand Meadow Cemetery in Grand Meadow, MN.

Mr. Miller, 91, of Dexter, died Tuesday (April 27, 2010) at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, MN where he was a resident the last two years.

Robert Edsel Miller was born Dec. 30, 1918, on a farm near Grand Meadow to Jens C. and Edith M. (Root) Miller. He married Arlene Sievertsen on June 27, 1943, in Spring Valley. The couple made their home on a farm near Dexter. Mr. Miller enjoyed farming and working on farm equipment at the Oliver Tractor Plant in Charles City, Iowa. In retirement years, he enjoyed going to northern Minnesota, fishing with Arlene and the grandchildren. He was always busy fixing anything that needed repair.

Survivors include; a daughter, Colleen (Don) Tebay of Brownsdale; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; a son, Garry; his parents, Jens and Edith; a brother, Earl; and sister, Almeda.

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, April 28, 2010, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield, MN, and one hour before the service on Thursday at the church in Austin.
