Robert "Bob" William Kruger

Robert "Bob" Kruger, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 26, 2023, at his home in Hayfield, MN.

Robert was born on April 7, 1933, the son of Lloyd and Lucile (Janes) Kruger in Hayfield, MN.

Bob was a lifetime resident of Hayfield and graduated from Hayfield High School in 1951.  On June 20, 1953, Robert was united in marriage to Dorothy Scharberg at West St. Olaf Lutheran Church and they were married for 69 years. He attended two years at the University of Minnesota - St. Paul campus in Agriculture.  Bob farmed all of his life and was president of the Minnesota Soybean Association. He served on the school board at Hayfield, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served on the church board.  Bob enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in sports at Hayfield.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kruger, Hayfield, MN; children, Diane (Chuck) Ludwig, Colorado, Roger (Ruth) Kruger, Hayfield, MN; John (Jill) Kruger, Hayfield, MN; sisters, Ardyce Haukom, Austin, MN; Nancy Peter, Chatfield, MN; and Georgie Nolte, Spring Valley, MN; grandchildren, Kelsey Ludwig (Rob), Kiya (Luis) Solano, Adam (Lenna) Kruger, Chad Kruger (Miranda), Meagan Tycz, Cole (Johanna) Kruger, and Kate Kruger; and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield.  The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church, 109 East Main Street in Hayfield with Reverend Brad Vander Waal officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Monday.  Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Croix Hospice for the thoughtful care they provided Bob during his final weeks.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be sent to St. Croix Hospice or charity of your choice.  Blessed be his memory.
