RUSSELL "RUSS" BENNEROTTE

The funeral service for Russell "Russ" George Bennerotte will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the Rochester Assembly of God Church, 4240 18th Avenue NW, Rochester, MN with Reverend Bruce Kallies officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja, MN.
Russell "Russ" George Bennerotte, 81, passed away Monday morning, February 14, 2011, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, MN.
Russell "Russ" George Bennerotte was born on October 18, 1929, the son of George and Laura (Knudson) Bennerotte in West Concord, MN. He attended country schools in the Pine Island area. At the age of 15 he started working at the Minnesota Cheese Producers Factory in Pine Island. In 1953, he started working for Quarve and Anderson as a welder and operator. Russ had many construction and other jobs. He was manager of Bay City, Wisconsin Campgrounds. He always called himself, "Jack of all trades." On January 8th, 1951, he married Janice Bradshaw and they were married for 60 years. Russ enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Russ is survived by his wife, Janice Bennerotte, Wasioja, MN; six children, Richard (Pauline Williams) Bennerotte, Mazeppa, MN; Rhonda (Dave Leth) Rhodes, Mantorville, MN; Rose (Rick) Phipps, Burlington, IA; Rollie (Marcia) Bennerotte, Wasioja, MN; Roger (Marlys Benesh) Bennerotte, Wasioja, MN; Roxanne (Steve Sinclair) Bennerotte, Kasson, MN;
15 grandchildren, Jason (Tricia) Bennerotte; Jackie (Brian) Chladek; Michael (Sally) Blanchard; Stacey (Marty) Blanchard; Nichole (Jared) Uhlman; Jered Phipps; Tina (Jeremy) Jacobson; Chad (Jessica) Bennerotte; Dallas (Kayla) Bennerotte; David Bennerotte; Joshua (Turi) Bennerotte; Jessica Bennerotte; Timothy (Heather) Fate; Danielle (Ryan) Sachett; Zachary (Jackie) Galley; 26 great grandchildren, Michaela, Jordon, Madelyn, Olivia, Isabella, Trace, Jaxon, Tyler, Jada, Katie, Mitchell, Cody, Damion, Gabrielle, Hayden, Skylar, Aliyah, Ayden, Braden, Brenden, Logan, Kyleigh, Ana Leisa, Austin, Christian, and Shelby; two sisters, Joanne Kollasch, Pine Island, MN; Linda (Grant) Hindal, Cannon Falls, MN; and one brother, Bob (Norma) Bennerotte, Pine Island, MN; mother-in-law, Florence Hickey, Pine Island, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, niece, Susan Bennerotte; grandparents, aunts and uncles. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, 55th and 18th Avenue NW, Rochester, MN and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
