RUSSELL LAMARR JENSEN

Russell LaMarr Jensen, 75, passed away on Friday afternoon, February 28, 2014, at his home in rural Hayfield after an eight month battle with cancer.

Russell was born on December 3, 1938, to Edwin and Cora (Mohn) Jensen in Hayfield, MN. He was the fifth of eight children. He hauled milk for his father when he passed, then went to farming, and later back to hauling milk for himself for 21 years. He delivered the newspaper for the Rochester Post Bulletin. Russell was a devoted family man. He and his family put on an annual Threshing Bee for 17 years. His past time included collecting and restoring antique tractors and also collecting toy tractors.


Russell is survived by his wife of 56 and 1/2 years, Doris Jensen, Hayfield, MN; children, Vicky (Bernie) Jensen Hayfield, MN; Rondalyn (Tom, Jr.) Wentworth, Kensett, IA; Paula Iverson, Dodge Center, MN; Nicole (Uri) Jensen, Hayfield, MN; grandchildren, Jeff (Nikki) Jensen; Crissy (Travis) Haugstad; Justin Iverson; Cody Wentworth; Carley Wentworth; Hunter Iverson-Himle; Nicholas Young; Maryx Young; Chapel Young; Eva Young and great grandchildren, Bradyn and Brooklyn Jensen, and Jakob Haugstad; sisters and brothers, LaVonne Zelinske; Donny and Barb Jensen; Betty and Rollo Strain; Jerry and Nancy Jensen; Carol Trygstad; Judy Hikok and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, LaMarr Jensen; grandson, George Jr. Sheraden; and brother, Darrell (Donna) Jensen; brothers-in-law, Lyle Zelinske and Dwight Trygstad.

The funeral service for Russell Jensen will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Evanger Lutheran Church, 33554 660th Avenue, Sargeant, MN with Reverend Dwight Dobell officiating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00~7:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
