The Funeral service for Russell R. Johnson will be 11:00 a.m. Monday April 20, 2009, at Evanger Lutheran Church in rural Sargeant, MN with the Rev. Lissa Kahl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion Post #330.
Russell Robert Johnson, age 73, of Hayfield, MN, died Friday April 17, 2009, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester, MN.
Robert was born September 25, 1935, in Dodge County, MN, the son of Manton and Bernetta (Bolstad) Johnson. He married Lucille Mayer on June 3, 1961, in Austin, MN. Russell served in the United State Army. He farmed all his life until 1991. He enjoyed tractors, puzzles, guitars, threshing, painting, playing cards and dice.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Hayfield, MN; four sons, Ronce Johnson of Hayfield, MN; Troy Johnson of Hayfield, MN; Joe Johnson of Rochester, MN; Steve Johnson of Aldie, VA; one daughter, Tracie Bjornson of Rochester, MN; two grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice (Gale) Grathwohl of Turtle Lake, WI; and Doris (Russell) Jensen of Hayfield, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Leonard Johnson.
Friends may call Monday, at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service.
