RUTH JEAN STRINGER
The funeral service for Ruth Jean Stringer will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Dodge Center United Methodist Church in Dodge Center, MN with Reverend Michelle Miller officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center.
Ruth Jean Stringer, 88, died at Lakeville Hospital in Stillwater, MN on Saturday, March 14, 2009.
Ruth Jean Grierson was born on September 15, 1920, in Calhoun County, IA the daughter of Chester Allen and Eva Naomi (Whiteman) Grierson. Ruth was married to LaVerne Edward Stringer on May 31, 1943, and the couple moved to Dodge Center in 1949. They moved to a farm near Dodge Center, where they farmed until his death in 1978. Ruth continued to live on the farm. She participated in many community and church activities and enjoyed golfing and did extensive traveling.
Ruth is survived by sons, Gene (Christie) Stringer, Stillwater, MN; Dale (Ginny) Stringer, Riverside, CA; grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Lloyd Evan, in 1995; and one brother, Dale Leonard Grierson, 1944.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
