Samuel Warren Houle, age 18, was called Home to be with our loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 21, 2024.
He started the Christian Race on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at 10:25 am. He was born 16 weeks early, at 11 ½ inches, weighing 1 lb. 8 ½ oz. He entered this world at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, MN.
Upon being born, he was welcomed into the family of God through the water and The Word of Holy Baptism.
He endured multiple operations and overcame various life-threatening situations which came along with his pre-mature birth, solely by the sovereign grace of God.
He grew by leaps and bounds into the young man many came to know and love.
His presence earned the respect of all who knew him. His laughter lit up all those around him. His love of others, coupled with his desire to be loved by others, knew no boundaries. He daily testified to his faith by choosing to wear t-shirts proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. He participated in church activities, including attending the recent LCMS Youth Gathering in Texas.
He enjoyed many things in this life. He especially immersed himself in engaging with on-line friends by “hosting” Jeopardy and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
Samuel finished his course in life as our Lord Jesus Christ welcomed him with arms open wide into His eternal rest. He fought the Good Fight. He kept the One True Faith. He has received his Crown of Life.
Those remaining to pilgrim this earth, cherishing Samuel’s memory are his parents, Glenn and LeAnn (Hayden) Houle of Geneva MN; brothers, Joshua and Nathaniel (Brittany) Houle; sister, Alethia Mason (fiancé: Jeremy Dylak); grandparents, Bruce and Janelle Hayden; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; many extended family members; and countless friends.
