Sandra Jean Bolles

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Sandra Jean (Thompson) Bolles, age 80 of Byron, MN, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 8, 2026. She always put her faith in God’s will and trusted in her Savior to take her home. That faith sustained her throughout her life.

Sandra was born on August 19, 1945, in Lake City, FL to Seaman James “Jim” and Marion (Aarsvold) Thompson. Sandra “Sandy” was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, George, and remained devoted to him for nearly 60 years and after his passing.

As a farmer's wife, homemaker, mother and caretaker of elderly persons, she embraced a simple life centered on faith, family, hard work, and caring for others.

Known for her gentle spirit and kind heart, Sandy never met a stranger. She was a social butterfly who made friends wherever she went and had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and loved.

She found joy in gardening, birdwatching, camping, baking, spending time with family, being dubbed as the family historian, and friends. Her life was a beautiful reflection of selflessness, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She faithfully served her church through volunteering, supporting ministries, attending women’s groups, and lending a helping hand wherever needed. She lived her faith through acts of kindness, compassion, and service.

As a caregiver, she lovingly cared for many elderly clients and tenderly cared for her husband in his final days. Her life was a testament to Christ's command to love one another.

Sandy is survived by her daughters, Angela (Bolles) May and Rhonda Bolles; her son, Gregory Bolles; grandchildren, Camille May, Caroline Adams, and twins Rachel and Jordan May; brother, Gary (Chad, Jeremy, Jodi) Thompson; sister, Linda (Celestina) Thompson and her brother, Brad (Darrin, Grant) Thompson. In addition, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George; daughter, Melissa Bolles; parents, Jim and Marion Thompson; sister-in-law, Betty (Spillman) Thompson; and brother-in-law, Jeff Warner.

Those who knew Sandy will remember her warm smile, gentle nature, generous heart, and unwavering faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, compassion, and devotion to family. Though deeply missed, her loved ones find comfort knowing she has been reunited with those who went before her and is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
