SANDRA ANN BURKHARDT

Sandra Ann Burkhardt, 88, passed away at her home in Hayfield on February 27, 2023.

Sandra was born on June 16, 1934, the daughter of Lloyd and Olga (Oyen) Percival and Paul Thompson in Rochester, MN.

Sandy grew up in the Rochester/Hayfield area and graduated from Hayfield High school. After she and Richard (Dick) Burkhardt married, the family moved several times always staying in southeastern Minnesota. Sandy held several jobs as an executive secretary throughout her career. She loved to dance, sing, and travel. After selling their home in Winona, Dick and Sandy hit the road in an RV and spent summers in Minnesota and winters in the southwest. Finally, settling in southern Minnesota. Sandy was dedicated to her family above all else and took a great interest in her grandchildren. She loved sharing family pictures. Sandy always found joy in hearing from her extended family. She was an accomplished knitter and shared her creations with family and friends. Those who knew her best remember her as a loving, caring, and devoted person.

Sandra is survived by her children, Randy (Barb) Burkhardt, Castle Rock CO; Rachelle Burkhardt, Cheyenne, WY; Robert (Jane) Burkhardt, Pine Island, MN; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Steffen.

A memorial service will be at a later date with Inurnment in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.  Blessed be her memory.
