STELLA IRENE NELSON

Stella Irene Nelson, 98, passed away on Thursday morning, September 21, 2017, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, MN.

Stella was born on November 1, 1918, the daughter of John and Tena (Teigen) Tverberg at home in Dodge County, MN.

Stella was united in marriage to Warner C. Nelson on July 18, 1950, at West St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Stella and her husband owned and operated the Red Owl Grocery Store for 27 years. She was active in her community and enjoyed keeping current on world events and local news and read the entire paper every day.

Stella was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, sang in the church choir, and active in the church circles.  She was also a member of the American Legion  Auxiliary in Dodge Center.

Stella is survived by her nephews, Gene (Isa) Andrist, Denver, CO; and John B. Nelson, Spring Brook, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner Nelson on October 14, 2000; parents, John and Tena Tverberg; her two sisters, Lulu Andrist; Viola Starkson and her brother, Raymond Tverberg.

Visitation will be 10:00-10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Faith Lutheran Church, 308 2nd St NW in Dodge Center.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Lisa Carlson officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center immediately following the service. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center assisted with arrangements.
