Stuart James Boyum

Stuart James Boyum, 83, of Kasson, MN passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Stuart was born on September 14, 1941, in Kasson, MN to Selmer and Julia (Kyllo) Boyum.  He graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School.  He married Frances Fuller on July 22, 1961, in Owatonna, MN.  He was a lifelong farmer.  He enjoyed horses, plowing, and 2-cylinder tractors.  He was a member of South Zumbro Lutheran Church in Kasson, MN.

Stuart is survived by his children, Dawn Swanson of Kasson, MN and Scott (Lisa) Boyum of Kasson, MN; 5 grandchildren, Bobby (Samantha) Swanson, Karina Swanson, Danielle Swanson, Katie (Eric) Gruhlke, and Korbin (Lacy) Boyum; 8 great-grandchildren, Parker, Quinn, and Ryder Gruhlke, Owen and Palmer Boyum, Brody Swanson, Cooper and Magnolia Swanson; siblings, Robert Boyum of Kasson, MN, Sylvia Holets of Rochester, MN, Pauline Brannan Tvedt of Kasson, MN and Karen Reed of Rochester, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances Boyum; son-in-law, Maynard Swanson; and sister, Delores Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at South Zumbro Lutheran Church, 68905 280th Ave, Kasson, MN, with Pastor Pete Wyttenbach officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to his service at the church.  Interment will be in South Zumbro Lutheran Cemetery in Kasson, MN.
