Stuart Kalmer Ellingson

Stuart Kalmer Ellingson, 92, of Kasson, MN passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.  Son of Sandford and Ella (Starks), his family resided on a farm in the Dexter area.  He graduated from Austin High School before joining the Air Force where he served for four years.  He returned home taking a job with IBM eventually settling in the Kasson area where he lived for sixty years and raised his two sons.  He traveled extensively around the world and when at home enjoyed photography, snow skiing, boating, water sports, fishing and farming.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kaye; sons, Roger (Cindy) and Russell (Kim) all from New York; brother, Al (Ann) of Rochester; sister-in-law, Corliss of Austin; stepson, Brad (Mary) Schmidt of Hayfield; stepdaughter, Rhonda (Joel) Christiansen of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Jennifer Ellingson-Jerome (Gabe) of New York; and great-grandchildren, Tristan and Tucker and several step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marvin Ellingson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 301 8th Ave NW in Kasson, with Pastor Mary Kaye Ashely officiating.  Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE in Kasson and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Sargeant, MN. Military honors will be provided by the Kasson American Legion Post 333.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Kasson, the American Legion of Kasson Post 333, or the American Legion of Hayfield Post 330.
